How to Replace Blower Motor/Resistor

Does your car only blow air on high but not the lower fan speeds? Your blower motor resistor needs to be replaced.
Does you car not blow air at all but the fuse is good? Your blower motor needs to be replaced.
Since the resistor is located next to the motor, the steps to replace both are the same.

1) Roll the passenger seat back and look under the dashboard. Remove the thee 'christmas tree' clips holding the cover in place (if you don't have a trim removal tool, a hammer works well; just like pulling a nail).

2) Twist and pullout the floor light from its socket.

3) Looking up into the dash you will see the bottom of the blower motor. A flashlight would be helpful for the next steps.
First, using a 5.5mm socket, remove the two bolts (red) holding the gold bracket in place.

Second, use a torx bit to unscrew the three screws (blue) holding the motor in place When it comes down a little you can unclip the wiring harness located on the side of the blower facing the front of the car and pull out the rubber cooling tube.

4) If your replacing the resistor.
Looking into the hole where the blower motor was, you will see the resistor. Unclip the wiring harness. There are three 5.5mm bolts holding it in place. The only bolt towards the rear of the car needs to come out completely.
The front two can stay in place, but need to be loosened. The one on the passenger side is easier to get to. The one of the driver side, for me, was impossible. Since I was replacing it anyway, I just kept flexing it until the plastic cracked a little, then it was able to slide it towards the back of the car and pull it out.

5) If your replacing the resistor.
Now the that resistor is out, you can loosen that front driver side screw just enough so you slide the new resistor in (back to front). Tighten the two bolt you can get to and forget about the one you can (that's why you only loosen it a little).

6) If your replacing the blower motor.
Hold the blower in place with one hand a get one screw going with the other. Tighten all three screws and reconnect the rubber cooling hose.

7) Follow the directions in reverse to put everything back into place.
