2) Using an 8mm socket, unscrew the negative battery terminal and place it under the wire bundle below the fuse box so it doesn't swing up.
3) Pry open the clasp securing the coolant overflow hose with a flathead screwdriver.
4) Using an 10mm socket, unscrew the two nuts holding down the coolant overflow bottle. Pull the bottle upwards and place it in between the dog bone engine mounts.
5) Now you have access to the tensioner pulley. Using a 15mm socket, turn the wrench counterclockwise with one hand. When the tensioner releases the belt, pull the belt off the pulley with your other hand.
6) Unscrew the top nut of the alternator with a 15mm deep socket.
7) Remove this bracket from the black metal swing arm with a 10mm socket.
8) With the 13mm bolt now exposed, loosen the nut (no need to unscrew it completely) and swing the arm up.
9) Slide down the power cable rubber boot. Use a 13mm socket to unscrew the nut and remove the wire from the alternator.
10) Using a 15mm deep socket, remove the three screws holding the alternator in place.
11) Before pulling the alternator completely off, turn it over and unclip the wiring harness.
12) Follow these directions in reverse to put everything back together.
