PB- ATCO 12/5/08

so today was Tune Times rental @ ATCO. weather was chilly, obviously it is december. well onto the good stuff, the people at ATCO, prepped both lanes but left the left lane without water because i was the only car on street tires, and FWD. first run was a 13.31@104, with a 2.1 short time, throughout the day the runs varied from 13.3 to 13.6 with the same 104mph. seeing as how i was the only car racing the left lane, it really wasnt that wore in or warm. the right lane however had numerous 10second vettes and other RWD cars with slicks throw lots of rubber all over the groove. i used this to my advantage as we had the rental til 430, i got into the right lane, quick spin in the water and lit up the BFG's very nicely, rolled to the lights and staged, 3rd yellow came down and i went, 1.9 light up on the board and i dropped the hammer, the M90 screaming down the 1320, the GP blistered through the traps at 13.18@103MPH
champagne fell from the heavens, velvet ropes pared as i returned to the pits. big thanks to Tune Time Performance, and Matt especially for his superior tuning abilities, Big Mike for the moral support, Craig for my silly phone calls, and ZZP
mods are:
ZZP M90 ported outlet
ZZP ER rockers
Northstar throttle body/LQ4 maf
powerlog
2.5inch catless downpipe
3.4 single belt pulley
short stack intercooler
42.5lb injectors
intense pcm, tuned by matt
when i put the car together it had 6*of timing from ZZP in the pcm, i fried 3 of them, we switched back to my INTENSE pcm and re flashed it. upon me getting the intercooler installed we up-ed the timing to 19* and made 265whp, 295wtq on tune times mustang dyno. Sal bring your car out here to the shop one day i guarantee you will never fiddle around with a 9.0 AFR and an AFC ever again. matts tuning is incredible and im pretty sure i am the only ZZP kit car running low 13's and trapping 104mph

NICE :partyman:
Thank god we dont tune the way the forum tells us to anymore. OMG my LTFT r off what do i do "i will adjust it thru my AFC" what a load of poop. I cant believe we use to tune that way. Now I know why my regal only ran a 13.5 with more mods then you, we were tuning WRONG. like matt said "THEY TUNE THRU LTFT"... "THROW THAT AFC IN THE DUMPSTER" I felt like an ass after he said that you and me.

Ur the man nick

BTW sal congrats on ur new PB but if u wanna do 10s call matt I WILL PAY FOR UR TUNE there is no reason for ur car to go to a 9.9 AFR if it was TUNED RIGHT... I run 12.6 at 108 with a 1.71 60ft with only cam a headers and i scale in at 4989LBS... the man is insane and so is ur car.

TRUST ME, YOU GUYS R ALL TUNING WRONG I WASH BRAIN WASHED JUST LIKE THE REST OF U. WE R TUNING WRONG PLAIN AND SIMPLE

The AFC is not garbage. It's good for a quick fix. It helped with my WB.

I was tuned until I upgraded to the A2A IC. Matt from ZZP fixed a lot of parimeters that were bad in my PCM in general then he tuned me for the W2A IC. I should have waited for the A2A upgrade.

Maybe once I fix my rear mani, I'll have him lok at it. I know my car runs 10's easily. I ran the 11.57 with only 16lbs of boost which is sh*t and I had a bad 60'.

Sal, i go down to Tune Time at least once a week, they're only 40 mins from me in Jersey. can you run a rear powerlog? or are you still using the CT crossover? Matt is very good people and i guarantee he will blow away the numbers ZZP dynoed for you, not to mention you will hit the 10's. im heading down there next weekend sometime, let me know when you want to do anything

i see i cant edit, posts.....
as for the bad 60' youre running great slicks, there should be no issue, unless Etown is that shitty. we have more track rentals coming up at ATCO throughout the winter. i think Matt's tune and a day at ATCO, you may just have to change that license plate again.

The bad 60 was because I had too much air in the slicks and shitty track prep since it was the last day of season

I'm still using the CT crossover. Over the next couple of weeks, I hope too pull it off. It might just be a blown gasket.

I'll most likely take a trip to TTP. I'll let you know when the car is ready.
